Drawing strips with an adhesive backing are used for
individual pages as well as hanging clamps and large
format files with dust flaps for groups of drawings.
This blueprint storage system allows the user to save
space by storing 3-4 times more blueprints in a given
area when compared to flat file cabinets
while offering better accessibility and faster retrieval.
Flat file cabinets are one of the
most inefficient methods of filing available. Vertical
space is wasted and actual filing capacity is only about
20 inches per 10-drawer flat file cabinet due to the
physical construction of the cabinet and air space between
the drawers.
Finding valuable film, plates, blueprint storage, maps and
plans in a flat file cabinet is difficult since it requires
the user to search for a stack of material that may
not be grouped or indexed. The material is almost in
the bottom of the drawer making filing and retrieval
a nightmare resulting in lost productivity, scratched
film or damaged plates and drawings.
